EASY WAYS TO QUIT SMOKING

Begin by taking fewer smoke breaks and by reducing the num ber of ciggies you smoke in a day.
Always set realistic targets and bring down the number every day, every week, and every month.
Avoid places that trigger you to take a puff.
Get a smoker friend to quit with you. Make a #youquitIquit pact with your close pals, especially with the one who doesn't approve of your smoking. Tell them that you will quit smoking if they quit one bad habit of theirs.
Many smokers get an urge to light up after a meal. To avoid it, have fruits or your favourite dessert or a chocolate.
Never go to a nicotine replace ment therapy. If you feel depressed, plan a short trip with your non-smoker friends or do some physical exercises.
Procedures like acupuncture, hypnosis and meditation can help you to get rid of the habit, provid ed you do it under proper guid ance.
EXPERTS SPEAK
Rather than trying hard to quit, it's better to not pick-up the habit. Youngsters must understand the problems they face once they get addicted to it, and think before using tobacco products. That's why we are trying hard to stop the sale of cigarettes around schools and educational institutions. We have formed a team of health inspectors to curb the usage of tobacco. Those who smoke in public must be fined, so that they will not do it the next time. Whenever we find a movie poster that has a star smoking, we immediately send notice to the actor or the producer, as such posters end up as an advertisement or promotion for tobacco products. We are planning to start a tobacco cessation clinic next year to serve as a de-addiction centre for smokers.
- State Tobacco Control Officer
The number of cancer cases due to tobacco has drastically increased in recent times and smokers have to accept that the habit is an illness. They must motivate themselves to quit. Many become psychologically dependant as the nicotine that reaches certain receptors of their brain keeps them alert and active. The only way to stop smoking is to understand about the addiction, and get help from a psychologist or a psychiatrist. The patients will be given a nicotine substitute that will slowly help them get rid of their addictive habit.

How to remove the negativity from life?

It's quite common that during certain phases of life, one expe riences a sense of remorse, negativity and lack of interest towards everything. Such feelings emerge within a person and suddenly they develop a feeling of insecurity , unknown fear and depression. In the feng shui parlance it could be excess negative energy , bad vibes or harmful energies focused on the home or the individual.
The person then looks for a solution to overcome this phase, and also seeks protection to shield from this bout of negativity . The desire for protection should not arise from fear, but from the understanding that there is a wide variety of energies around us existing in the universe, and these create disturbances and distort the energy fields of the individual.
Say if its due to bad feng shui from an adjacent house, focus on creating a very strong, protective energy around your own house.Create a protective environment around the home by placing tall evergreen plants in the landscape, create a feng shui rock garden and maybe suspend a metal wind chime.
From the feng shui perspective of a home, to prevent such negative attacks, the primary focus is to create a sense of protection with a solid and clean main door. This enhances the feel of security and creates positive flow of chi around the main door. In feng shui terms, what strengthens you, protects you. This is true, no matter whether one believes in feng shui or not, as in reality when the individual's energy is strong, they are much better equipped to deal with negative or low energies focused towards them or their home. After all, feng shui is about creating harmony with our environment, and it starts with understanding the energy around us and how it flows by adapting small remedies and protections one can tide over the negative influences smoothly .
To make use of their protective powers, you can place a couple of elephants at your main entrance. This does not have to be a dramatic arrangement; just an elephant couple on your side table can work very well.
The carnelian tumbled stone is a kind of a feng shui crystal ideal for providing protection against enemies and making bad decisions. It also improves memory and one's ability to speak publicly .
Feng shui coin sword is an extremely powerful protection against negative chi or killing breath that threaten the loss of wealth and health.
Burn cinnamon sticks or incense with cinnamon fra grance to dispel negative ener gies.
If there is a lot of negative energy focused on you at place of work and situation is hostile, carrying a pinch of cinnamon in the wallet or handbag can help protect and shield your energies from such negative vibes and dissolve the hostility .

The Vegetarian Foods that are Actually Non-Veg

If you're a vegetarian and are blindly trusting what you eat just because the ingredient list doesn't mention any non-veg ingredients, you need a reality check. Many foods, considered vegetarian actually contain traces of non-veg food. Though there are substitutes available for the non-veg used, they are still not popular or widely used. So the next time you crave one of these foods, your best bet would be to confirm if they are actually "vegetarian".

1. Salad Dressings

Think you're safe when you ordered that lettuce salad? Think again! You know the vegetables are, well, vegetarian but have you ever wondered about the sauces? What exactly is in those sauces that make your salad so tasty? Most often than not, salad dressings are not completely vegetarian and contain eggs. So the next time you order a salad or are buying your favourite salad dressing, please check the ingredients list thoroughly. Especially, if it is an imported brand.

2. Soups

We all love Indian Chinese. The tang, the spice, heat. But what if we told you your favourite Manchow soup is actually non-vegetarian? Restaurants often add sauces to your soups which are derived from fish or are fish sauces to the mix. Yes. Even in your vegetarian soup. We kid you not. Try asking them about it the next time you're at a restaurant. We promise you'll hear things like, "It's Tom Yum soup and Tom Yum Sauce contains fish..."

3. Cheese

Life just feels incomplete without a pizza, doesn't it? Indians have taken to cheese like a fish to water and we now add cheese to each and every recipe! So you have cheese pav-bhaji, cheese poha, cheese rajma, cheese dosa and even cheese paratha! But did you know that the cheese you love might contain rennet, which is an enzymes derived from animal guts. And for the love of humanity, we shall not get into how the enzymes are extracted. Unfortunately for you, the cheese packets do not list the actual enzyme used but just a generic "enzyme". We leave it to you to keep guessing the actual ingredients!

4. Jelly

Gummy Bear

The very sight of these delectable gummy bears has left you craving one. Admit it! But before you give in and indulge, read this. We all know what is the main ingredient of jelly. That's right! Gelatin. And gelatin is an animal derivative. However, in recent times, gelatin is being replaced by starch or other similar food products and chemicals so you might just be safe.

5. Beer/Wine

Hic. Cheers! No, we aren't drunk writing this. Unfortunately, we aren't. We're as sober as a beaver (just coz it rhymes, you know). Beer or wine makers often use isinglass - or fish bladders to clarify their beer. So the colour you keep raving about? It's all thanks to fish bladder! Sounds ugh? Well, most of the famous beer and wine brands in the world use isinglass. Vodka, here we come! Hic.

6. Oils

That advertisement for your 'heart-friendly' oil? That's actually not heart-friendly at all! Oils and jucies that contain Omega-3 acids, advertised to be good for your heart are derived from fish oil. Also, some juices claim to have Vitamin D which is derived from Lanolin, obtained from sheep! So much for pure veg. Hmpf!

7. Naan

Naan

This accompanies every meal! How the hell is naan non-veg?! This is taking things too far. Well, it is not. Many recipes for authentic naan call for use of eggs while kneading the dough to keep it soft and give it good elasticity. That's absolutely fine if you're an eggitarian but dear vegetarian, you might want to eat that paneer tikka with chapati now?

8. White Sugar

Whoa! Did you know that while processing white sugar, to make it precisely as you like it, white, manufacturers send it through a cleansing process. And the cleansing process is done using 'natural carbon'. Wondering where that 'natural' in carbon comes from? Bone char. Yupps, that's right. Charred animal bones! The safest way out is to buy unrefined sugar or stick to brown jaggery.

Yennai Arindhaal Review

Yennai Arindhaal is an complete in and out Gowtham Vasudevan movie. GVM directed another Powerful Police officer episode with Ajith combination. Ajith's one of the career best performance in acting and lived in the character of Satyadev IPS.

Appreciate Ajith for giving a powerful villain role and an equal importance for Arun Vijay. His performance was very appreciable and its best.

First half of the screenplay was little bit slow and fantastic second half ,racy screenplay with an seat edge thrilling moments till the end of the movie.

Dialogues was nice and getting applause except bad words used frequently with mute.

Camera was excellent.

Songs and BGM was huge plus. Haris Jayaraj has done his best in the BGM.

Few scenes in the movie will recall Gowtham's earlier movies like Kaka Kaka and Vettaiyadu Vellaiyadu.

Overall of the movie I have felt a complete satisfaction for watching a Sathyadev IPS life. Gowtham Vasudeva Menon is back with grand success in his career with yet another block buster COP story.

10 qualities of a great entrepreneur

Entrepreneurs, like great leaders, are not born. They are made.
What are the qualities that define a great entrepreneur from an average one? Read on to find out..

How to be a great entrepreneur
Entrepreneurship is as important as innovation for national and global economic growth.
"Innovation is essential, and we need it. But the real magic starts with entrepreneurs," according to Jim Clifton and Sangeeta Bharadwaj Badal of Gallup Poll, a market research and consultancy firm.
"Entrepreneurs create customers. And customers, in turn, create jobs and economic growth," they add.
Countries need thinkers and doers.
"Entrepreneurship is the horse, and innovation is the cart," Clifton and Badal explain.
Creativity, ideas, discovery and innovation are one side of the growth coin -- the other side is commercialisation.
Their new book, Entrepreneurial StrengthsFinder, delves into the psychology of the entrepreneur.
What are the personality characteristics and behaviours that lead to venture creation and success?
Can one learn to be an entrepreneur, or is it a quality a person is born with?
The book and online questionnaire (accessible by a special code for those who buy the book) help aspiring founders answer these questions to discover their innate entrepreneurial talents along with areas of improvement for individuals and teams.
The 161-page book is compact and makes for an engaging and thought-provoking read, for entrepreneurs as well as management consultants and coaches.
Just as there are tests for IQ and sports abilities, the authors advocate conducting tests on students and employees to see who are natural-born entrepreneurs and who can be nurtured to launch start-ups.
This also has implications for transforming cities into innovation hubs; local government leadership and community activism has helped Austin become a creative hub (as compared to Albany).
"Each city has its own unique entrepreneurial talent -- and each must find it, maximise it, and retain it," Clifton and Badal advise.
This can be done via testing, accelerated development programmes, specialised courses, meaningful internships and coaching.
Gallup conducted research on 2,500 entrepreneurs to understand what it takes to create a business, scale it, make profits and create jobs.
The ten key talents of successful entrepreneurs are: business focus, confidence, creative thinking, delegation, determination, independence, knowledge-seeking, promotion, relationship-building and risk-taking.
